Farmer
Farmer
A farmer heading to his chest

Class:

Worker

Tools:

  • Hoe
  • Shovel
  • Materials Produced:

  • Every kind of crop that grows on farmland

  • Farmers hoe any dirt within their range and plant seeds. They also dig non-dirt areas around the hoed dirt and fill it with water. Farmers produce wheat. The products that the farmer harvested are often transported by the Delivery Man to the Baker to produce bread.

Their AI is unstable and if placed too closely to other buildings, they will plow the surrounding dirt around their plowing radius. It is recommended that the farmer should be placed away from other buildings to prevent this problem.

In order to have a citizen be assigned as a Farmer, you must place a Farm item block, and have your Builder build the Farm.

The Farm comes with one Field. If you you have unemployed citizens before you build the Farm, then they will be automatically assigned to be a Farmer worker. If you want to switch someone to be a Farmer worker, you will have to:

    1. Go to your Town Hall,
    2. Right-click on the "Chest" in the Town Hall, (it will have the words "Chest" floating above it, but will not look like a standard minecraft chest). Right-clicking the Chest will open up the Town Hall GUI.
    3. Switch the "Worker hiring mode:" to manual.
    4. Go to the building where the worker that you want to re-assign is,
    5. Right-Click on that building's "Chest"
    6. Fire the worker that you want to re-assign from their current building,
    7. Go back to the Farm,
    8. Click on the Farm's "Chest"
    9. Hire the worker that you want to re-assign.

If your Farmer is not doing anything, make sure that they are assigned to at least one of your Fields by right-clicking on the Farm's "Chest" and then go to the second page of the GUI, by clicking the blue arrow in the upper-right.
